Innovative PET washing
The configuration of a PET recycling and washing line can vary greatly depending on the level of contamination of the material being recovered. What sets us apart is our ability to design and build fully customized PET recycling systems to meet the specific needs of our clients.
Our plastic washing plants are divided into several stages, tailored to the characteristics of the input material. Specifically, Recy’s PET washing and recycling plants include the following main steps, all optimized to ensure efficient and sustainable plastic recycling through advanced plastic recycling machinery:
Preparation, sorting and prewashing
After the bales are opened, a dry washing stage removes solid contaminants such as sand, stones, and organic materials, optimizing the process for efficient PET recycling.
The next stage uses our water-based prewash system, which harnesses the heat generated by friction to further remove contaminants such as labels, oils, grease, and metals. This advanced technology ensures optimal preparation for the PET sorting and recycling stage, improving the quality of the material being processed.
Hot washing
Our innovative hot washing system is designed to achieve high-quality flakes suitable for bottle-to-bottle recycling. Using self-generation of frictional heat, it eliminates the need for external heating systems, reaching internal temperatures of up to 85°C for deep cleaning.
This process effectively removes impurities and inks, minimizing the use of chemicals such as caustic soda and detergents, and guaranteeing sustainable treatment in our PET washing plants.
Separation by flotation, rinsing and drying
In this stage, the polyolefins are separated by flotation, while the PET sinks and is directed to the rinse system. Here, any remaining chemical additives are removed by a continuous flow of water, ensuring a completely clean material ready for recycling.
Our drying technology reduces moisture content to less than 1% producing high-quality r-PET flakes with no glue residue.
